Premium Prefa Aluminium Roofing Engineered for Seamless Integration

This Enmore project was constructed using 430mm wide Prefa aluminium standing seam panels, supplied in Patina Grey by KFC Roofing. Designed to create a contemporary, refined finish, the material was selected for its durability, corrosion resistance, and ability to achieve a completely seamless appearance. To support long-term performance, the system included Solitex Adhero membrane, stainless steel fasteners, and folded aluminium flashings fabricated to suit the home’s clean architectural lines. The homeowner specifically requested a roof with no exposed flashings and no ridge cappings, which required custom detailing and advanced folding techniques to deliver the uninterrupted look they envisioned.

The Challenge

This project presented unique design constraints, driven entirely by the homeowner and builder’s vision. The brief required minimal visible flashings, no ridge capping, and zero external termination trims. Instead, the standing seam panels themselves needed to form every termination, folded together to create a watertight and visually seamless profile.

This approach meant the team had to engineer solutions that relied solely on panel manipulation—double-lock seaming, reverse folding, and concealed terminations—while still maintaining waterproof integrity. Every panel length, angle, and seam had to be meticulously measured and formed. With no standard cappings to conceal inconsistencies, any deviation would be visible. The work demanded absolute precision, exceptional craftsmanship, and careful sequencing.

Our Solution

To achieve this seamless architectural result, the Austek team developed a full custom installation methodology. Using the Prefa aluminium panels, we double-lock seamed the roofing sheets and folded them over each other, eliminating the need for traditional ridge capping. Folded aluminium components supplied by KFC Roofing were incorporated only where necessary, and always in concealed locations.

Each standing seam panel was shaped and locked into place using specialist tools to create perfectly crisp seams and tight engagement between adjoining panels. Terminations were closed using folded, interlocking techniques rather than exposed flashings, allowing the roof to maintain a clean, uninterrupted aesthetic from edge to ridge.

The outcome is a roof that looks carved from a single piece of metal—sleek, modern, and executed with extremely high attention to detail.

A Fully Seamless Roof That Redefines Modern Minimalism

The finished result is a striking example of minimalistic roofing design, where craftsmanship replaces conventional detailing. Without visible flashings or ridge caps, the Prefa standing seam system flows effortlessly across the roof structure, highlighting the precision of the folds and the richness of the Patina Grey finish.
Beyond aesthetics, the concealed seams and custom folding techniques improve watertight performance and reduce long-term maintenance. The project stands as a testament to specialist workmanship and the ability to deliver architectural visions that rely heavily on accuracy, technique, and refined metalwork.
