This project in Rose Bay was constructed using Lysaght Longline 305 in the premium Night Sky finish, applied as both roofing and vertical wall cladding. Selected for its distinctive shadow lines and sleek architectural appearance, Longline 305 provided the perfect profile for a contemporary multi-residential façade.
To enhance performance, the build incorporated Solitex Mento Plus sarking paired with 12mm ventilation drainage battens, ensuring excellent moisture control and airflow. Folded flashings, custom rainheads, stainless-steel fixings, and Velux FCM skylights completed the system, seamlessly integrating durability, ventilation, and modern design.
This combination of materials and detailing elevated the project into a highly refined, technical installation suited for high-end residential living.
The architectural design of this building required numerous intricate details that demanded accuracy, planning, and craftsmanship. Both sides of the building featured a cut, folded, and joined transition detail, where roofing and wall cladding intersect across changing angles. Achieving these transitions while maintaining perfectly straight seam lines required precise layout and sequencing.
Additional challenges included multiple window cut-outs, curved planter box interfaces wrapped in aluminium cladding, and custom guttering with external powder-coated brackets. Every detail needed to tie seamlessly into the Longline 305 profile without any visible inconsistencies.
The Longline sheets also needed to terminate cleanly around architectural features while maintaining waterproofing, airflow, and the clean lines defined by the Night Sky colour scheme. With so many junctions and transition points, achieving a flawless visual finish required exceptional skill.
Austek’s installation team engineered each detail with meticulous planning. Longline 305 panels were measured, cut, and folded with precision to maintain continuity across transitions and level changes. Using advanced folding techniques, the team created perfectly aligned seams down both sides of the structure, ensuring that roofing and cladding met in crisp, unified lines.
Window penetrations were individually trimmed and flashed using custom-made aluminium components from HMR Supplies. The planter boxes were wrapped in matching aluminium cladding, carefully shaped to follow the contours of each box while maintaining waterproof integrity.
To finish the system, the team installed bespoke guttering with powder-coated external brackets, striking the perfect balance between structural durability and architectural style. The result is a cohesive, high-quality installation that demonstrates both technical skill and refined metal craftsmanship.
The completed project showcases the exceptional versatility of Longline 305 when executed with expert workmanship. Every transition, seam, penetration, and flashing synchronizes to create a visually striking façade that elevates the entire multi-residential property.
The deep Night Sky finish, paired with ventilated sarking and custom metal detailing, ensures the installation will perform reliably in all weather conditions while maintaining its sleek architectural appearance for years to come. The result is a modern, seamless building envelope that reflects the high-level craftsmanship synonymous with Austek.
