This project in Vaucluse was constructed using a combination of Speed Deck 700 in Basalt Matt, applied as both roofing and wall cladding. The system, supplied by Stramit, delivers a sharp architectural profile and high-performance weather resistance. To support thermal performance and reduce heat transfer, the installation included 55mm Performa foilback insulation, Pro Clima Mento Plus sarking, and a full stainless-steel fastening system. Additional elements—such as custom folded flashings and 150mm Shale Grey Matt half-round gutters—were integrated to complete the building envelope with a clean, cohesive finish. The selected materials complement the property’s contemporary design while ensuring longevity in Vaucluse’s coastal environment.
This project presented several complexities driven by the architecture’s multiple roof pitches, varying angles, and intersecting planes. Precision craftsmanship was essential to keep the Speed Deck profiles perfectly aligned across transitions, especially where the roofing wrapped into wall cladding sections.
The design also required meticulous detailing, including sculpted nozzle points and precise flashing lines to achieve a crisp, high-end finish. Despite the straightforward nature of the materials, the technical demands of the geometry meant that every measurement, cut and join had to be perfect. With a premium home in a prestigious suburb, visual consistency and accuracy were critical, and the team’s workmanship needed to reflect the standard expected in a high-value residential build.
Austek’s installation team developed a plan that prioritised accuracy and consistency across all roof and wall planes. Using Stramit Speed Deck 700 for both applications ensured clean transitions and uninterrupted lines. Our team executed every measurement with precision, aligning the deck pans through each change in pitch and direction.
Custom folded flashings from HMR Supplies were fabricated to maintain a watertight system while framing each junction with refined detail. Sculpted nozzle features and penetrations were shaped to exact dimensions, showcasing the team’s ability to produce high-end craftsmanship from standard profile materials.
The installation was completed with Shale Grey Matt half-round gutters and stainless-steel fasteners for durability and corrosion resistance, especially important in a coastal suburb like Vaucluse. The result is a polished, seamless, and technically refined finish that exceeded expectations
The final outcome showcases the strength of combining straightforward materials with exceptional craftsmanship. Clean lines, flawless alignment, and precise transitions between roofing and wall cladding create a visually striking exterior. The upgraded insulation and sarking systems enhance comfort and structural performance, while the careful detailing ensures long-term reliability.
This project highlights Austek’s ability to transform a simple material palette into a highly refined architectural finish—earning admiration from the builder and setting a benchmark for quality roofing installations in the Vaucluse area.
