This Randwick project featured the installation of Sharpine Direct Fix cladding and Stramit Speed Deck 700 roofing, supplied in Night Sky to complement the home’s architectural character. The works included a large custom box gutter, refined dormer sheeting connections, and detailed window trim fabrication, all designed to create a visually cohesive and durable building envelope.
To support waterproofing and thermal performance, the installation incorporated Solitex Mento Plus sarking, 55mm PermoraINS insulation, and a full stainless-steel Bremick fastening system. Custom folded flashings, rainheads, and large box gutters supplied by HMR were integrated to ensure proper water management and a polished architectural finish.
The home’s existing roof design required highly detailed metalwork to marry new Speed Deck sheeting with the original architectural features. The dormer connection in particular required exact measurements and precise folding to achieve a watertight interface without disrupting the heritage-style façade.
The large custom box gutter demanded intricate fabrication and installation to ensure correct capacity, fall, and alignment across the roof plane. Detailed window trim flashings also had to be designed and installed in tight tolerances to achieve both waterproofing and a clean visual presentation.
With several intersecting rooflines, concealed fixed ridge cappings, and a sunken balcony area, the project required advanced sequencing and careful planning to maintain consistent detailing throughout the build.
Austek developed a tailored installation plan to meet the project’s multiple complexities. The Speed Deck 700 sheets were measured and installed with strict alignment to maintain clean, uniform rib lines. The dormer interface was fully custom-shaped, creating a precise metal envelope around the structure while providing long-term weather protection.
The large box gutter system was fabricated and installed with exacting detail, ensuring efficient water collection and seamless integration into the surrounding flashings. Window trims were cut, folded, and installed to create crisp edges that enhance the home’s architectural features.
All folded flashings, rainheads, and ridge details were completed using concealed fixings to maintain a clean, uninterrupted aesthetic. The combination of quality materials and skilled metalwork resulted in a high-performance roof system with refined visual appeal.
The completed installation showcases the strength of combining Speed Deck 700 roofing with carefully crafted metalwork. The custom box gutter, dormer integration, window trims, and concealed ridge cappings all work together to produce a modern yet sympathetic upgrade to the home.
The Night Sky finish, premium flashings, and high-performance insulation create a durable and attractive building envelope designed for longevity. This project highlights Austek’s ability to execute detailed residential metalwork to the highest standard while elevating the architectural character of the property.
